The Twitter world was full of “Arcade Fire who?” and “Who is Arcade Fire? I’ve never heard of them” postings. Maybe these people should turn off the radio and start buying their music from places other than the bin at the end of the aisle at Walmart.

Arcade Fire has released three solid albums and the previous two were also nominated for Album of the Year. (2004’s Funeral and 2008’s Neon Bible) If you’ve never heard of them until now, it might be time you evaluate your music sources.

Arcade Fire is only co-headling one of the largest and successful music festivals this April, Coachella, in Southern California, that sold out in a record 6 days, with Kanye and Kings of Leon.

The Suburbs was released by Merge Records, the indie label based in Durham, North Carolina, that has been home to underground acts like Lou Barlow, The Clientele, Superchunk and Neutral Milk Hotel. In addition to performing, Arcade Fire was up for three Grammys this year.
