listen to “Faces In A Dream” on Spotify (this was a link to the track ‘Separation Sunday’ but it’s been taken down. It’s a great tune!)

This song, Separation Sunday came up on random on my iPod this morning. I really like this song and don’t think it’s that well known. I thought I’d share it with you all.

Hurricane #1 were a UK indie band, formed in 1997 by former Ride guitarist Andy Bell, along with vocalist / guitarist Alex Lowe, bassist Will Pepper and drummer Gareth Farmer.

Signed to Creation Records (along with fellow bands such as Oasis, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream) they released their debut album in 1997, entitled Hurricane #1. This included their first single, “Step Into My World”, which reached number 29 in the UK Singles Chart (and a remix of which reached number 19 in 1997), and other less successful singles “Just Another Illusion” and “Chain Reaction”. Their other biggest hit was “Only The Strongest Will Survive”, which also reached number 19 in 1998, and which featured on their second album, Only The Strongest Will Survive.
Bell quit the band in 1999 to become the new bass player for Oasis. In 2004, a two-disc compilation of their songs was released, entitled Step Into My World.
Former Hurricane #1 vocalist / guitarist, Alex Lowe, is now pursuing a solo career – he has released three albums to date. Lowe has also just announced a new side project called Garage Flowers – a good time, rock and roll garage act, which is influenced by Primal Scream, The Rolling Stones, The Stooges and Bob Dylan. Garage Flowers plan to play some live shows in 2007, and are currently working on their debut album.
